Working as a Celebrant is the perfect match for me as I absolutely love meeting people , listening to their stories of love and then thinking creatively about how I can write a lovely tribute to make each ceremony extra special. My love of words and passion for writing led me to achieve an English Honours Degree with Creative Writing, which paved the way to an exciting career spanning 25 years as a professional ‘Storyteller’ and ‘Event Planner’ in a wide variety of Senior Marketing Management roles. I first got the idea to train as a Celebrant with ICPC after arranging my Dad’s funeral when I recognised the real value of telling his life story in just the right style and tone to capture exactly who he was as I felt this was so important. And I also found the process of talking about his life and all the funny memories, very therapeutic.

I will always ensure that your ceremony is written and delivered with the right tone and with complete professionalism, care and attention to detail. Finding just the perfect piece of music, reading or poem for a uniquely personal ceremony is a challenge I relish.

If you choose LOVESHINE you are choosing a safe pair of hands for a very creative and personal celebration… always with a sprinkle of laughter and a coating of special care. It's always such a pleasure to listen to a story of life and love, as each is so absolutely unique. To write your story and to then celebrate it with you and your loved ones is always such a special privilege.

What my clients say...

We had not had a Celebrant before so it was a new experience for us. Alison was absolutely brilliant. It felt like she 'took the load off our shoulders'. She pulled everything together and on the day of the funeral she was a friendly face and delivered a lovely ' remembering and celebration' service. She made a difficult day much, much easier. A lot of the family also commented on how good Alison had been and how her words made them smile.

There was a natural ease and brightness to Alison's story-telling, she was great at reading the room and used a lot of humour to really engage with everyone at our wedding ceremony - just perfect.

Thank you so much again for doing Henry’s Naming Ceremony. Everyone said how lovely it was, it made it super special. I’m really pleased how it worked out.
